A wood screen porch is grafted on to the existing residence.

Graft House involves the interior and exterior renovation of a 1970s split-level home in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Seattle. The existing living room, kitchen, and dining spaces are combined to share natural light from a new overhead skylight. A new wood-screened porch that is grafted on to the existing residence provides an outdoor covered space, and serves to screen the main living spaces from the harsh afternoon light.
